What should I do about the construction going on, literally, feet from my apartment building?
Abby C asked:
We signed a lease in this apartment. Its right nextdoor to a business building that's being renovated. It looks like its going to be a Lowe's or something. But for the past few months we've been waking up to loud construction noise, and this morning, they started jackhammering at 7am. We didn't sign up to live 50 feet from a jackhammer. What can I or the manager of my apartment do about this?

Nothing really. They have a permit to build. It isn't on your landlord's property. It ***** but nothing you can really do.

I am dealing with this same situation.
Unfortunately I don't know if there's much you can do about it. How much longer do you have left on the lease?
You could call you local housing authority to see if they can offer any advice.

All any of you can really do it check the city laws and see what time workers are allowed to start working. Wear ear plugs also, might help a bit

As long as they are following the city ordnance on the time they can work there is nothing you can do.

Nothing you can do, they are doing work within the allowable hours. Hopefully they should be done soon, they open those places fairly quick.
My parents bought a house with a greenspace behind it owned by a farmer, been in his family for 200 yrs blah blah blah, well he passed away and his son sold it to a developer, they opened up a mall with walmart, grocery store, and a few other places, her property value dropped 40%,
Nothing can be done

Your apt.manager is not in charge of this .check with your city/town ordinances most do have noise ordinances(from what time to what time)But in the mean time you should invest in some noise cancelling headphones-bose makes great ones but pricey sony sells a pair for about $50.00
